My laptop frequently makes the "Device Disconnect" sound -- that little sound you get when you pull something out of a USB port -- for no apparent reason.
The laptop can be sitting there completely still -- without my doing anything or even touching the keyboard or mouse -- and it'll throw that sound out randomly. It happens several times an hour.

Local Network flush timer?

So i have win8.1 PC via cable, and 2 win7 LAPTOPS and an ANDROID phone via wifi on my local network.
i dont have homegroup set up, and i set to connect with usernames and pws to folders shared with advanced sharing.
everything works fine, and each device sees each other, but.. :sick:
after a period of time, 1-5 minutes, win8.1 stops sharing.

Cannot create storage pool greater than 15.8TB

I added two new drives and its says im using 8.15TB of 19TB pool capacity but for some reason I cannot change the storage pool maximum to be greater than 15.8TB once I go above 15.8TB it shows a message "The specified size is not valid"

Operating System Not Found/Partition Locked
So this past weekend I merged two partitions and now I get the error "operating system not found." I cannot boot into Windows 8.1 and desperately need a solution that doesn't require me to lose everything. I also get an error along the lines of the partition with windows on it is locked. :cry:

I have a dell laptop with an i7, a lx502 , and a samsung 512Mo ssd, runing windows x64 8.1
When I want to update to Win 10, the 5 gb file never gets downloaded (very slowly, in say 2hrs) and the pc get frozen at 20%, only power cycle can restart it.

Hello, I recently performed the upgrade to windows 10 and found it hopeless. I could not get internet connectivity and many programs would not work. I tried some troubleshooting but gave up and reverted to 8.1. That worked well except that IE 11 has an error that I cannot resolve. I have been wondering why I didn't receive the free upgrade notification and I read in Microsoft forums that Enterprise versions of Windows are excluded in the free upgrade.

How to restore my Administrator status
I used to be the Administrator of my Windiws 8.1 Laptop. While trying to bypass Startup password I messed up and now the Administrator is HomeGroupUser$ and I am reduced to a mere Guest. As a Guest I can't revert to becoming the Administrator again.
Please help me to regain my earlier status as Administrator.
